Building Ambiance Matchmaking: An Entrepreneur's Journey (2025)

Ambiance Matchmaking was recently contacted by VoyageChicago, a LA-based magazine, to be featured in their series, Most Inspiring Entrepreneurs and Independent Businesses. Of course, we gladly accepted!

In this interview, Leslie Wardman gives an honest description of what it's like to not only build your own company, but to build a company focused on helping people make one of the most important decisions – finding a life partner.

The key to running a successful business? "Surrounding yourself with key partners that strengthen your weaknesses is so important. Our company manager of fifteen years keeps everything on track and for that, I am very grateful," Leslie says.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? "It’s been a bit of a wild ride! Being able to help people is wonderful, however, people don’t realize how much work goes into matchmaking. Creating our networks, constant strategizing, hiring good, caring and responsible staff are all a big part of it."

When asked what sets Ambiance Matchmaking apart from the competition, Leslie responds, "Our business model is working with busy singles on an equal playing field. Matching wealthy men with young beautiful women is not our thing. When we match (daily from 9-1030) it’s built on family values, where you are in life and where you want to see yourself going."

What is "success" for Leslie? "Getting that phone call asking to put their account on hold because they have met the person of their dreams."
